I will never forget the sinking feeling I got when my father was diagnosed. After an almost 4 month battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, he passed away on September 1, 2011. My father was an amazing person. He was a veteran of two wars, and taught me everything he knew about the world. Dad was my inspiration and motivation to continue college even after he passed away. Throughout his battle with pancreatic cancer he remained strong and never gave up. There are so many times when I still can't believe he is gone, but in my heart he will be alive forever. I am determined to help the cause in any way possible so that fewer people feel this heartache. No one should have to lose their parent at a young age. Pancreatic cancer left a hole in our family that can never be filled. I miss you so much dad, my biggest fan.
